I want Netflix The Sandman to be great. But. Adaptations to screen of the work of Neil Gaiman have been tough to pull off. The same is true of other British writers with similar ironic humour like Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett. Why is it so hard to capture the voice of these writers on screen?
