The Excalibur video just snuck over 100,000 views in exactly a week

People like King Arthur, swords…and Helen Mirren

This video essay had been in my research queue for some months, but I actually pulled the trigger on writing and shooting because this image of Helen Mirren turned up in the research

It’s actually a PR still for Excalibur, not an image from the movie. I had to AI expand it slightly for the thumbnail. You can see the back of Mirren’s top is slightly distorted

YouTube gives the Click Through Rate for thumbnails too much emphasis in the algorithm. You can have the best written and produced videos, but if the CTR isn’t over 6% the video is dead. This encourages much of the clickbaiting on youtube. But I’m focussing on high quality imagery for the Science Fiction channel
